正在 (zhèngzài) — Present Continuous
Place 正在 directly before a verb to show an action is happening right now. It is the Mandarin equivalent of the English '-ing' present continuous. In casual speech, 在 alone can do the same job. Adding 呢 at the end of the sentence further emphasises that the action is still ongoing.
