Expressing Necessity with 'musieć' (must / have to)
The verb 'musieć' expresses necessity or obligation in Polish, equivalent to 'must' or 'have to' in English. It is conjugated for person and tense, then followed directly by an infinitive. In past tense it changes form based on grammatical gender (musiał for masculine, musiała for feminine). It is one of the most useful modal verbs in practical everyday Polish.
